Wamy Academy Girls Make History Winning 6th Ramadhan Quiz Show

Students from Wamy Academy Girls  have made history after the girls’ team won the sixth edition of the Ramadhan Quiz Show, becoming the first girls’ school to clinch the prestigious title since the competition began in 2021.

The team, led by captain Aisha Mohammed Ahmed, alongside Nimo Abdi Abshir and Ayan Hassan, defeated three-time defending champions Khalifa Bin Jasim in a thrilling final aired on Jamia TV.

This year’s competition attracted a total of 32 teams drawn from different schools, including five Junior Secondary Schools (JSS), 18 girls’ schools, and 14 boys’ schools, making it one of the most competitive editions of the Ramadhan Quiz Show.

The Wamy Academy team displayed exceptional knowledge and composure throughout the contest, eventually overcoming the experienced Khalifa Bin Jasim team to secure the historic victory.

Ustadha Malika Ali from Wamy Academy Girls praised the students for their courage, discipline, and perseverance throughout the competition, noting that their determination and commitment to learning played a key role in their success.

Speaking after the victory, the students expressed gratitude to the school management, Jamia Mosque Nairobi, and Jamia TV for providing a platform that allows young learners to showcase their knowledge of Islamic teachings.

“We are grateful to our teachers and the school management for supporting us and encouraging us throughout the competition,” Aisha Mohammed the team leader said, adding that the quiz helped them deepen their understanding of the Deen.

Meanwhile, the Jamia Mosque Committee (JMC) Daawah Governor, Sheikh Ibrahim Lethome, emphasized the importance of nurturing students with well-rounded knowledge of religion.

He noted that the Ramadhan Quiz Show plays a key role in encouraging young Muslims to study different aspects of Islam.

“The competition tests students in various areas of Islamic knowledge and helps build a generation that understands their religion comprehensively,” he said.

In the 3rd and 4th playoffs ,Ghanima El Marzuq finished third after beating Greenside Secondary School.

The Ramadhan Quiz Show, organized annually during the holy month of Ramadhan, continues to grow in popularity, bringing together students from across the country to test their understanding of Islamic teachings while promoting unity and healthy academic competition.

The Show continues to inspire young minds through engaging questions on Qur'an, Hadith, Islamic history, Fiqh, and contemporary issues.
