The Muslim Education Secretariat for Western Province (MESWEP) will host it 4th edition education day to celebrate achievements by Muslim schools in Western region.
The annual event isscheduled for Thursday, February 14th, 2026, at the Bungoma Muslim Centre (BMC) under the theme: “Empowering Muslim Schools for Academic Excellence and Community Transformation.”
The event will convene 50 schools, approximately 1,500 students, 200 teachers, school managers, religious leaders, parents, government education officials, development partners, and community stakeholders.
Education Day 2026 will feature academic exhibitions, mentorship sessions, teacher recognition awards, student motivation talks, and stakeholder dialogue aimed at strengthening collaboration, accountability, and shared ownership of educational outcomes.
Most importantly, the event will reinforce education as a tool for community transformation, youth empowerment, and moral leadership.
This flagship event is the only annual education forum in Kenya exclusively dedicated to Muslim-sponsored schools, providing a unique platform to celebrate achievement, inspire learners, recognize outstanding teachers, and promote Islamic Religious Education (IRE) and Arabic studies as integral components of holistic education.
MESWEP works with all Muslim education institutions from pre-primary, Primary, Secondary and post-secondary education institutions including madrassas. MESWEP is affiliated to and works closely with Muslim Education Council (MEC) as outlined in Article 53 of the Constitution of Kenya (the Basic Education Act).
